HM Coastguard said it received a report at around 2.50pm on February 28 that someone had become trapped in the mud.

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Poole, Lymington and Southbourne were sent to the scene, alongside crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the ambulance service.

The casualty was safely recovered and handed into the care of paramedics.

A spokesperson for HM coastguard said: “HM Coastguard received a report of a person stuck in the mud at Naish Beach at around 14:50 this afternoon (28 February)

 “Coastguard Rescue Teams from Poole, Lymington and Southbourne, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the ambulance service were sent.

 “The person was recovered and passed into the care of the ambulance service.”
