Arsenal have beaten Brighton and Hove Albion, while Manchester City have dropped points against Nottingham Forest.

The two Premier League title rivals were separated by five points before the game, with the Sky Blues having a game in hand.

That difference has suddenly gone up to seven points, making Arsenal even bigger favourites to win the title in May.

The fans at the away end of the Amex seem to believe, for the first time this season, that the Premier League crown is coming to the Emirates.

Who was Arsenal’s most disappointing player despite the 1-0 win vs Brighton?

Arsenal fans changed the song they were singing after hearing that Manchester City had dropped points

Arsenal fans have been nervous about the title race in recent weeks.

It’s never a good feeling to have a Pep Guardiola side chasing your team, especially after what happened in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

Many felt that Arsenal’s draws against Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Wolves would prove to be costly, but Edu Gaspar’s Reds have now taken points off Manchester City too.

That could make a big difference to the title race, and Arsenal fans look like they are finally believing that their side can go all the way.

Sam Blitz reported on Sky Sports that he had only heard supporters sing “we are top of the league” after the Gunners’ wins since the start of the season.

However, after the fans heard that Manchester City had dropped points, the tune changed.

Blitz wrote: “Arsenal fans are currently singing: we’re GOING to win the league. That’s a huge shift from just: we are top of the league.

“I believe that’s the first time that chant has been sung this season – no matter how many days Arsenal have spent at the top of the table.

What would your message to the Arsenal team be after the Brighton win?

“It shows how big a night this is. Arsenal have eight games left and have a seven-point lead at the top. This is a night that has confirmed Arsenal can be robust when it matters – and City are not the team of old.”

The title race is definitely not over, and Mikel Arteta and his players cannot get complacent.

However, a seven-point lead with eight games to go really does seem significant, and the fact that the fans truly believe it now could give the players an added boost.

That should help them get over the line this season.
