Unai Emery spoke to TNT Sports after Aston Villa’s defeat against Chelsea: “We competed but they dominated more in the first half. We were defending and getting some transitions. We got the first goal. After we scored the second goal that VAR refused it was the key moment.
“The match was equal in the result and so tight but they were playing better than us. After they scored their third goal they had complete confidence in the match. We tried but it was not enough.
“What we did wrong was more how we faced Chelsea today. We are now in a bad moment. Chelsea are so happy and deserved to win. The consistency is very important but now we are not being consistent.
“In 29 matches we have been better than them but not today. Now we have to find solutions and recover our confidence and good form.”
