Newcastle United will have been handed their TV fixture tweaks for April ahead of the Premier League’s run-in.

However, only one of Newcastle’s fixtures has been picked for TV in the Premier League in the penultimate month of the season.

With Newcastle lagging behind the Champions League places and clear of the dropzone in terms of relegation, games against Crystal Palace (a) and Bournemouth (h) have been left untouched.

A Premier League statement confirmed that the home game with Arsenal will remain on Saturday. April 25 as it stands but it will kick off at 5.30pm.

Although the Premier League have warned things could change if Newcastle or Arsenal are still active in cup competitions.

A statement read: “This match is subject upon the participation of Clubs in UEFA competitions and the FA Cup.”

That is the same weekend as the FA Cup semi-finals so Newcastle and Arsenal must wait to see if they progress and the game could well get postponed.

And while the clashes at Crystal Palace and at home to Bournemouth are not particulary mouth watering as far as TV companies are concerned, it means no facility fee money for the games being broadcasted in a further dent to funding.
