Dominik Szoboszlai left Liverpool fans in shock after sporting a dramatic new look during Tuesday’s game against Wolves.

The Hungarian midfielder, who is having a brilliant individual season for the Reds, arrived at Molineux with braided hair. The Reds went into Tuesday’s game on the hunt for three crucial points, having started the day fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind both Manchester United in third and Aston Villa in fourth.

Szoboszlai’s bold haircut immediately got Liverpool fans talking on social media ahead of the match. “This is beautiful,” wrote one fan on X. “Hope he scores more goals with it.”

“He needs a hat-trick after this,” added another fan.

Yet not everyone was impressed by Szoboszlai’s new look. “There was absolutely no need,” claimed one fan on X, while another added: “Oh no, he’s gone full Becks” – referring to the braided haircut David Beckham had during his time at Real Madrid.

Szoboszlai is full of confidence right now thanks to his brilliant form. The 25-year-old midfielder, who has been deployed at right-back several times this season, has scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in 37 appearances for the Reds.

Szoboszlai’s new haircut wasn’t the only talking point ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Mohamed Salah’s lack of goals continues to dominate the headlines. The veteran forward has scored just seven goals for Liverpool this campaign, despite finding the net 34 times last season.

“From Liverpool’s point of view, they’ll have everything crossed that there is a change in form,” said TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist before kick-off.

“He has not performed anything like the levels that he did last season. But make no mistake about it, he’s one of the greatest players to have graced this league.”

McCoist was asked whether Salah will be hurting right now due to his lack of goals. He replied: “He’ll know it.

“We’re sitting up here (in the commentary box) talking about it, but the first person to notice is Mo Salah, and he will know it.

“He absolutely knows that he’s not performing to the best of his ability.

“I would take it a step further – it wouldn’t surprise me if his form returns and Liverpool go on, because they’ve still got an awful lot to play for.

“Will he be at Liverpool next season? I don’t know, but I don’t think so.”
