But he will not have a familiar voice “barking” in his ear as they face Arsenal at the Amex.

James Milner is likely to be rested this time after helping secure mood-changing wins over Brentford and Nottingham Forest.

But Hinshelwood believes the Gunners can be given a tough night.

He said: “I think we go into the game in massive confidence with our last two performances.

“We know they possess real quality but, if we can do what we’ve done in the last two games and add a bit more on top, then I think we can more than compete with them and show what we’re about.

“You know when you play Arsenal that they possess a set-piece, but they also possess great quality out wide, down the middle, everywhere, all over the pitch.

“They are top of the league for a reason so we know we are going to be on top of our game and I’m sure we will be.”

Milner has played behind Hinshelwood, who has been given a role closer to main striker Danny Welbeck.

Hinshelwood said: “I know when I’ve got him behind me, he’s going to be barking in my head the whole game, whether I like it or not!

“I’ve got to listen to him and he’s an unbelievable role model for me. If I can have half the career he has had, I’ll be very lucky.”
