The crash on Midanbury Lane on Monday night, just before 6pm, involved two vehicles, according to police.
The crash resulted in a lane closure on Bitterne Road West outbound at the junction with Midanbury Lane.
Pictures from the scene show two cars stopped in the road and a police vehicle at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 5.55pm on Monday, March 2 to a collision on Midanbury Lane, Southampton.
“The collision involved two vehicles.
“One person suffered minor injuries.”
