  1. Overrated. Ozil far superior. Modric far superior. Guti had character and that genius crazyness. Iniesta was a schoolboy, academy player. Technically amazing, but nothing out of extraordinary. Always makes exactly the same dribble (croqueta). Statistics wise nothing that extraordinary as well. Was pretty comfortable in a very functional midfield that played together years and years non stop. Controversial opinion I know, but I've never seen anything from him that blew my mind. Take xavi and busquets from his side and he seems a normal player with good technical skills.

  2. Pedri is still 23 yo, Iniesta had become insane after 25 when he got regularity in his game. Idk if Pedri will be capable of getting close to Iniesta's prime, but, if you ask me now 23 yo Pedri or 23 yo Iniesta i choose Pedri. Pedri is much more mature in his game and now he is one of the midfielders who recovers more ball posesion for its team, he's probably the best and most complete midfielder in the world. Agree that not reaching Iniesta's prime but we need to wait until he ends his career to judge like that

  3. They have magic touches, but are different players. Iniesta is more of an attacking midfielder while Pedri is a holding one. Pedri also recovers more balls and controls more the tempo of the game. Iniesta is more lethal in the opposition area because he dribbles more when closer to the goal.
I can't compare them because, although they are both midfielders, their contribution to the game is different.
After Ronaldinho, Iniesta was my favorite player, I enjoyed watching this video

  4. I know ppl talk about pedri being the new one I don’t agree iniesta could weave past 3 or 4 players draw them in his touch was out of this world when controlling the ball closer to him and more foward he barely had to use his body to get out of tight spaces where he was marked by many players absolute natural genius

  5. People tend to forget Iniesta 2017 and 2018 was still fabulous and one of the very top midfielders in the world.

Even in 2016, he finished ahead than Kroos and Modric in Ballor D'Or who won the UCL (popularity contest that award I know, but just wanted to mention it because I think it shows some of his greatness).

  6. Iniesta is definitely top 10 ever all around, but he is the undisputed king of 'not losing the ball'. the man will bend space-time before he loses the ball.

  7. Iniesta is on another level for now.

His ability to control the ball in tight spaces – unmatched.
    Composure and decisiveness… incredible.

He could change the trajectory of a game with a few touches.

  8. I think Pedri Gonzalez similar Iniesta because they play the same position. PEDRI has more/equal skills as the Legend Iniesta ❤. I also think is a big mistake to compare because the era is not the same . For eg players from Brazil compared Ronni /R9

  9. I wonder how many new football watchers haven’t seen players from this era live. Weird to think because I very clearly remember these players and these moments.

If you’re new or young, these things you’re watching him do in these clips was him from minute 1 to minute 90. Never saw him lose the ball and he almost always was progressing the play. He was like slower Messi without the goals but in midfield.

  10. I have seen the reason i hated barca then…. Inesta messi and xavi combo was unfair… United couldn’t touch them and it was right for Ronaldo to leave us…. There was busquet in that team too, dani alvez and alba!!! Having suarez and neymar was unfair 🤣🤣
