It’s been answered countless times. First of cracks of the Barto era.
Also we don’t need to dwell on something that happened 10 years ago

Enrique didn’t really rotated at the time. We were exhausted (international break+ CWC so a lot of flights aswell). Especially we relied to much on Rakitic and MSN . First season without Xavi and IR was overworked by march-april.

I see the same thing happening again 🥶🥲
10 years ago we faced an English team (Arsenal) in RO16 and then Atletico Madrid in the QFs. This time we’re facing Newcastle in RO16 and potentially Atletico in the QFs and let me tell you, with that defense we ain’t going Anywhere 💀

International break in March for Commebol qualifiers was particularly brutal for our Sth American players tha season. 5 key starters (including all of MSN) , the travel and intensity of those games took its toll.
Plus before that we were on an undefeated streak that had looked wobbly at times, and so there was also just some reversion to the mean.

No rotation and no squad depth.

Let’s look forward, we have an amazing team but we need proper depth if we wanna compete for every title every season

The lowest point in my time watching Barca was after the 2-0 to Atletico. People say Roma or Liverpool were the worse but there’s something horrible about that 2-0 that still pains me

I remember thinking we were on another level after that fake penalty by Messi when he passed to Suarez. Shortly after that, everything changed and honestly we haven’t truly been the same level of dominant since. Interesting how we look back.

Two words. International break.
