Atalanta put in a heroic performance against Dortmund just days ago, then lost to ten-man Sassuolo today. It shows how hard it is for Italian clubs to maintain the same intensity in both the Champions League and the league. The gap in performance between competitions is simply too big right now.

  1. It’s terrible. In 2 weeks of UCL matches Juve also played Inter and Como and right now we’re playing Roma.

Doesn’t help that serie a refs always allow the bottom feeder clubs to play rugby while forcing the competitive clubs to play really soccer. Serie A doesn’t have enough $$ to afford the pre requisite squad depth to manage two or more high level comps

  3. Completely false, historically it’s difficult to win between Champions League matches unless you give up on the Champions League.

3 years ago 3 out of 4 seminfinalist where from serie A. Serie A team have done very well in the others cup recently. Seems ridicolous all of this pessimism just because inter is out.
