Second-half goals from Anis Ben Slimane and Ali Ahmed made it nine wins in 11 games for Philippe Clement’s injury-stricken side, who now hold an 11-point cushion above the Championship drop zone.
It was Slimane who broke the deadlock on 69 minutes, the substitute curling a superb effort in from outside the area to hand Norwich a richly deserved lead.
Ahmed then doubled the advantage soon after, arriving unmarked at the back post to tap into an empty net and spark jubilant scenes in the sold-out away end, who travelled home delighted.
It was a relatively quiet start at the King Power Stadium, with neither side able to seize early control. Liam Gibbs looked to spark Norwich into life with a dangerous delivery into the box; Jakub Stolarczyk was equal to it, gathering comfortably with no yellow shirt on hand to apply the finishing touch.
All of Norwich’s early attacking threat flowed through Paris Maghoma, who has continued his fine form since arriving in January. The lively midfielder twice tried to pick out Mathias Kvistgaarden in promising positions. First he tried to thread a clever pass in behind the defence, before moments later producing a delicious cross that drifted narrowly over the striker’s head.
Leicester’s Harry Winks registered the first shot on target after 14 minutes. The former Tottenham midfielder tried his luck from distance, his effort swerving late and forcing Vladan Kovacevic to readjust and make a smart save.
Midway through the half, the Canaries carved out their first two meaningful openings. Maghoma’s corner was met by Kvistgaarden, who rose well but could only guide his header into the side netting, despite the away end briefly thinking he had broken the deadlock.
Maghoma was at the centre of it again soon after. Collecting the ball inside his own half, he drove forward with purpose to the edge of the area before unleashing a fierce strike that had to be turned behind by Stolarczyk, as Norwich began to take control of the contest.
The home crowd, many of whom had protested against the club’s ownership before kick off, were left frustrated by the manner of their side’s performance as the teams went in goalless at the break.
Philippe Clement’s side looked the more likely to find a breakthrough after the restart, with Kvistgaarden seeing an effort well blocked as Norwich began to apply pressure.
There was a moment of panic on 55 minutes when Vladan Kovacevic dallied in possession inside his own area. Patson Daka closed him down sharply and looked poised to capitalise, but the goalkeeper reacted quickly to recover the situation before any real damage was done.
Then came the inspired change from City boss Philippe Clement on 62 minutes, as he replaced Mathias Kvistgaarden and Paris Maghoma with Errol Mundle-Smith and Anis Ben Slimane in a move that would ultimately decide the contest.
Slimane almost made an immediate impact. Just five minutes after his introduction, Ben Chrisene’s cross was blocked and fell kindly into his path, but the Tunisian’s driven effort was smartly kept out by the Foxes goalkeeper.
He was not to be denied for long. Kellen Fisher recycled possession back to Liam Gibbs, whose low cross was only cleared as far as Sam Field. The midfielder nudged it on to Slimane, who shifted the ball onto his right foot and curled a precise effort into the bottom corner, sending the travelling supporters into raptures.
Leicester boss Gary Rowett, taking charge of his first home game, attempted to swing the momentum back in his side’s favour with changes on 76 minutes, but it proved in vain as Norwich struck again soon after.
Fisher’s cross was blocked by Luke Thomas and dropped invitingly for Mundle-Smith. His initial effort was saved by the legs of Leicester’s Polish keeper, but Ali Ahmed reacted quickest, tapping into an empty net to seal the three points.
The hosts pushed in search of a consolation, yet they could not find a way past a resolute Norwich defence, who secured a rare back-to-back Championship clean sheet in the process.
