The Canaries are without 14 senior players under Philippe Clement, meaning they have just one natural striker, one left back and a lack of squad depth that left holding midfielder Liam Gibbs operating as a right winger.
Yet, in spite of those circumstances, City travelled to the King Power and delivered an assured display against the struggling Foxes. That impressed Ahmed, especially given the makeshift nature of some of the team, but it speaks to the mental fortitude that Clement has instilled since his arrival.
“That’s a really, really complete performance from everybody and from minute one,” the winger said. “It was not one of those games where we started off slow. We came out and didn’t give them anything.
“I don’t think they had any real dangerous chance, and going up 1-0, and then again, even going for it at 2-0 and then trying to get the third one and keeping the possession. I think everyone can be proud of themselves. The gaffer is really proud, and I think we can move forward.
“It was a top team performance, especially with all the bodies going down. It’s crazy how guys have come in and stepped up. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything like it.
“Errol playing striker, which is not his position. Gibbsy playing right wing and putting in a shift – it’s top. Going away to a big team and winning 2-0, it’s impressive.”
Ahmed felt an intense start to the contest, in contrast to matches against Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday, set the tone for another victory on the road, with Norwich winning their fourth away game in five matches.

“The start of matches has been important for us, and we came out in the first 15 and set the tone, and we were on the front foot,” Ahmed said. “When we come out like that, the belief we have, it’s tough for teams to stop.
“In recent games, I’m not sure why, but we’ve been coming out a little slow in the first minutes and it’s been killing us.
“I think as long as we emphasise winning that first 15, winning the first half and from there I think the belief it gives us, we were on top and in the second half, we really felt and believed in the locker room that we were going to come in and score one or two or three even.”
