Bait the press on the left to pin Villarreal’s block, circulate inside to freeze the cover shadows in mid, reset and hit the diagonal switch to the weak side.

By the time it reaches Lamine , it’s over: isolated fullback, interior too far to cover, back line scrambling across.

  1. This is like those post-replay analysis where it shows percentage probability of scoring goal or where the cross will arrive => meaningless

  2. Nah, this goal was pure individual brilliance by Lamine. It wasn’t “over” when he received the ball. The Villarreal shape was essentially fully set by the time Lamine receives the ball, but he dribbled 4 dudes and then dropped a worldie finish. Sure, Barca played through the press in a textbook way, but it’s not like we exposed some big counterattack.

This is over analyzing imo, it’s not like the play created a clear goalscoring opportunity,it was just a moment of brillance plus the center back was still in reach to intervene

  4. Over by the time he got the ball? What are you smoking? Analyze the play all you want but don’t pretend Lamine didn’t do magic to convert that.
