Douglas Luiz says he’s happy to be back with Aston Villa.
The Brazil midfielder returned to Villa after 18 months on-loan from Juventus in January.

“I really appreciate coming back to Aston Villa, where I showed my best football with this team, with this manager. In a year and a half I haven’t played so well since I left Aston Villa,” Luiz told Sky Sports.
The Brazil midfielder discussed his conversation with manager Unai Emery before his return.
“In the first conversation he said: ‘Douglas, we really need you right now’. I told him the following: ‘You know me. I’m ready to play. I’m ready to come back’. He believes in me a lot and I believe in him.”
Aston Villa are third in the Premier League and playing in the Europa League.
“We know it’s very difficult because we have Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool behind us. They are putting a lot of pressure on us and we have to keep fighting to get points,” added Luiz.
