Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move to Arsenal this week as the Gunners look for more attacking reinforcements.

It was reported by The Sun that Gordon is keen to join Arsenal, but, their report actually doesn’t tell the full story.

Indeed, according to Keith Downie, Anthony Gordon’s contract is actually longer than most people realise as his deal runs until 2030, opposed to The Sun’s report that his deal was up in two years’ time.

“We’ve got some exclusive news regarding Anthony Gordon and that story that was in The Sun this morning linking him with a move to Arsenal into the summer,” Downie said on his YouTube channel.

“My information I wanted to talk about and I allude to in the in the title of the story is his contract length.

“So in The Sun this morning it said that Gordon um is likely to move for around about 75/80 million pounds because he’s got two years left on his contract.

“Well, I can exclusively reveal to you that he’s actually has four years left on that Newcastle United contract.

“Remember he signed an extension in October 2024.

“Newcastle at the time described it as a long-term contract. There was no details given, which is quite often the case.

“But I’ve since managed to find out that that contract will take Gordon until the year 2030. So he has four years left. It takes him up to the age of 29.”

Arsenal may find it more difficult than they originally thought to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, but if they do have to pay a premium, it may well be worth it.

Indeed, Gordon has proven this season that he’s a top-level player, and his numbers, particularly in the Champions League, showcase his ability.

The winger is ready to come into this Arsenal team and make a difference, and while the Gunners may have to pay a lot of money to sign a player who has a long way to run on his contract, sometimes it’s worth pushing the boat out to get a deal done.

Whether or not Arsenal sign Gordon remains to be seen, but if they are to pursue this deal, it will be expensive.
