I think Neymar has always been overrated compared to the legends he was expected to succeed. Early in his career, many labeled him as the ‘next Pelé,’ but he never consistently reached the level of players like Ronaldo Nazário, Ronaldinho, or Kaká.
While Neymar has undeniable talent and flair, his decision-making, inconsistency in big moments, and tendency to focus on drawing fouls have often hurt his overall impact. Technically gifted, yes — but not as efficient or decisive as the Brazilian greats before him.
In my view, he is a very good player, but not a transformational one. The gap between him and Brazil’s true legends is significant
