Gabriel Gudmundsson is back available for selection for Leeds United’s home clash with Manchester City with Noah Okafor the only absentee.
Okafor pulled up with a hamstring strain against Birmingham City in this month’s fourth round FA Cup tie, and was given an initial timeline of two to four weeks out. He was always due to miss Saturday’s game against Man City, but could miss a few more matches depending on how he recovers.
Gudmundsson started the subsequent match against Aston Villa last weekend but had to be taken off at half-time due to feeling ill. However, he is back on the training pitch and in contention to start against Man City for the first time, having been benched for the reverse fixture.

That is the only Premier League game in which he has not started, having played 26 in United’s 27 matches this season. Of course, the reverse fixture against Man City saw Daniel Farke deploy a back three for the first time.
He could start with that black three – Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Pascal Struijk – on Saturday. Reflecting on that reverse fixture in December, in which Phil Foden scored a 91st-minute winner, Farke said: “We were pretty good in the second half.
“After this game, we have mostly played with 3-4-3 mostly and sometimes 3-5-2. We have grown into the season. The more they play at Premier League level, the more the goals are easier to achieve.
“We have converted our good performances into good points. Sometimes we’ve been very unlucky at the end.”
