Celtic description of their player idiotically losing his cool and punching an opposition player: “Arm to arm contact.” Then, just to add to the hilarity, they actually accurately describe exactly what VAR is intended for as part of a so-called complaint. Hahahaha

Only just watched the red for the first time. That’s an absolutely mental take. They’re 100% trying to please the da’s with that one. Scraping the barrel for brownie points.

If we put as much effort into signing players as we do into this shit we’d be in a better place.

It’s amazing how quickly they’ve pivoted from ‘the rules are fine, we have no issues’ to ‘they are out to get us’ and the only difference is, they are not having it their own way in the league table.

Its how VAR is arbitrarily intervening in celtic games now after the referee has made a decision is the problem here.

  5. Sure you get handfighting in the box during corners and free kicks but it’s the first time I’ve seen a player hold another players arm and then karate chop it.

If it was up to me I’d have added an extra game due to the appeal being frivolous and then added an extra two games due to the assault on a member of the 2025 Scottish Cup winning squad

  6. The only title DD is interested in is the statement title obviously. Somebody needs to change the passwords and not let him near the club media after he’s had a few whiskys.

  7. It’s a strange hill to die on in the grand scheme of things. Not seen many celtic fans dispute this red card..

I’m struggling to remember another incident where the fans of the club are generally agreeing with a decision but the club are kicking up a stink about it

I’ve only just looked at the replay and it looks like a proper sore one. The normal reaction would be to swat their hand away, not karate chop it like you’re trying to smash through some bricks.

“The kind of incident which features in games across the country week in week out” is my favourite part, it’s as if they’ve forgot there’s cameras at the game so we can actually see the incident they’re describing

  11. Just a bit of theatre.
Partly PR to show their fans they’re being proactive and partly to put a wee bit of pressure on refs/VAR by letting them know the club will kick up a stink at any and every decision.

  12. Does it not happen in every game though? I look forward to seeing this being applied from here on out

When the ref said he saw it and handled it for VAR to intervene. McGrath is grabbing his upper arm. Probably pinching him too, you saying youd just let someone do that to you?

Appealing also sends the message to trusty that the club view this kind of idiotic head loss as acceptable.

Lets pretend its an overly harsh red card for a second, which it wasnt, all players know VAR is there and will look at these things and it will result in a red, so why do it? He completely let all of his teammates and the fans down and ultimately cost us the game because he put his emotional reaction over the team.

Not saying we win the game with 11 men but we likely still get at least a point and possibly the win.

Its not like he was doing something to prevent a goal that got him sent off , it was our own bloody corner and instead of just focusing on attacking it the best he can he decides to karate chop someone, he is an absolute moron and I hope he is replaced in the team next season.

Scales isnt perfect but at least I can trust him not to do daft shite like this.

Its nobodys fault that we went down to 10 men but trustys.
