Nine people have been injured following an early morning house fire in Leicester.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) was called to Lancaster Street shortly after 6.30am on Wednesday, February 25 following reports of a kitchen fire in Spinney Hills.
Crews from Eastern and Central fire stations attended the scene with two pumps, alongside East Midlands Ambulance Service.
Gas and electrics were isolated as firefighters moved in to tackle the flames, using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed all persons had been accounted for.

Of the nine casualties, two were taken to hospital by paramedics while seven others were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. Four of those treated on-site were advised to self-present at hospital later.
It is understood that teenagers are among those injured, however, LFRS has not disclosed the ages of those involved.
Crews remain at the scene, dampening down the property.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, with an LFRS spokesperson saying an investigation will begin once work at the scene has concluded.
A LFRS spokesman said: “We were called to a domestic property fire on Lancaster Street in Leicester at 6.37am.
“The incident is ongoing and all persons have been accounted for. Eastern and Central stations attended with two pumps and crews remain at the scene dampening down.
“There were nine casualties in total. Two were taken to hospital by EMAS, while seven were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, and four of those were advised to self-present at hospital later.
“The cause of the fire is not yet known and an investigation will begin once work at the scene has concluded.”
