  1. I've always felt Rodri's vibe towards the club and fans was different to the likes of Gundo and KDB. He gives off the Bernardo vibe that he would be very open to leaving. It would not surprise me at all to see him in a Barca or Madrid shirt next season

  2. No way Brokelona can afford Rodri and we ain’t selling to them because they pay in instalments anyway (I don’t think they can even afford his 300k wages – they haven’t paid FDJ yet.. they need a striker (Alvarez) to replace Lewa so in short they don’t have the money). I feel it’s Nico G (reduced mins and La Massia upbringing adds up)
Pep loves Rodri too much to let him go!

  3. Can't let Bernardo or Rodri go really. It's all nice that some of us wants new toys but it's not realistic to let 2 of our most experienced players go and stay at this level. It would set us back years – As in, it would take years to teach another cdm And cm how to win titles. Anderson is good sure, he isn't close to Bernardo tactically and we would suffer in big games.

We made Rodri a Ballon Dor winner and now people are fine with letting him go? There's no replacement out there. As in not s single one.

It's crucial, imo, to extend with them both.

  4. Also it’s outrageous to get money back on him rather than having him for one more year (it’s like saying getting 50-60m is better than having Messi/Ronaldo for 1 more year)

  5. If we want to stick in the title race, we're good enough, but if we're ever going to dominate it again, we haven't got the midfield zip we need. Anderson's everywhere, and he's getting back and forth at pace, and he's delivering it instantly. Compared to what we have now, (good players doing a great job), it's still chalk and cheese. I'd take the gamble.regardless of who goes or stays.

  6. Regardless of anything we get both Anderson and Wharton. Failure to plan ahead correctly has put us in this position we find ourselves in. Rodri isn’t getting younger and if he isn’t 100% committed then I would take a big fee for him. Do Barcelona have the funds for a €100 million transfer????

  7. Why do media people like yourselves love pushing players away immediately our club is linked to an English player. Just a few years ago, you media people were calling for Bernardo and Rodri to go and be replaced by Grealish and Philips. Now you want Rodri gone for Andersen and Wharton; these players cannot even scratch the level of Bernardo and Rodri.

  8. Oh FFS please no more Bernardo, he has a good game every now and then. He's been wanting to leave for years hasn't he ??? Just let him go and replace him with someone better.

  9. We need to cash in for Rodri i know it's mad saying this but if we manage to get Anderson we are slighlty good because he's energetic…we might buy right back and a another midfield just by cashing in Rodri

  10. Losing the best 6 in the world would dramatically weaken our team, as we saw last season. I don't see any Spanish club paying for Rodri this summer either… they would all just wait for him to go on a free.

  11. I really hope it's not true & Rodri stays, but if he was to go to Barca, i would understand. I'll be livid if he goes to Madrid tho.
Bernardo has the most yellow cards in the prem this season, great leader. He stays another season, cause he's not going to Benfica atm, with the goings on there & Mourinho & everything..

  12. I wouldn't keep Bernardo unless Rodri leaves (for leadership reasons). But if Rodri stays i think its time for Bernardo to leave especially if we win the leugue

  13. Ruben has always been slow. But he had Kyle Walker to cover for pace. Now we have Khusanov. So for Bernado, he needs a cover for his pace. We kinda have O'Reilly. But we need one more younger, faster CM.

  14. Losing Nico G will be as bad as losing Rodri. I see him as the long term DM for City his 24, learning under Pep and Rodri and improving at a scary rate genuinely has world class potential. We have to keep them both Rodri has 2 more years at best then we need Nico G to take over but la masia boys love Barca unfortunately and losing him would be sad cause we took a chance at him not Barca.

  15. I can easily see Rodri going to RM. Why? Perez will make a public apology as will the rest of the RM, shows contrition to Rodri (a little public humiliation from them), then I could see him going there.

Barca would def be in the running, but City would be foolish to sell to them since they still owe us for Torres transfer fee. Maybe do a trade? Aside from that, where else could he go?

  16. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳🥳 Bernardo!!!!!! Love this.. Lets go. Im not worried about Madrid links to our players they do this every time before we are due to play them to try and create unrest amongst our fan base.. Think, Kevin, 6 times, Haaland twice, Diaz and then Foden 2 weeks ago. Its hust noise

  17. The reason we struggle in the second half is because we stop applying pressure once we’re ahead. At that point, the opponents start pushing harder to get back into the game, and we don’t handle that pressure well.

We no longer have enough players who are truly press-resistant and capable of dribbling out of tight situations — like Gündoğan, Kovačić, or De Bruyne driving forward with the ball. We have players who are comfortable on the ball, but not ones who can consistently escape pressure by carrying it forward. Instead, they rush passes to teammates who are often under pressure themselves, and we end up losing possession.

Right now, the biggest miss is Kovačić. It’s not just about physicality. When your brain works quickly, you don’t need to rely on physical strength — as Iniesta once said. Gündoğan wasn’t physical, and neither is Kovačić. It’s about intelligence and composure.

Nico O’Reilly is good technically, but he’s not press-resistant to the level where he can receive the ball under pressure, dribble past it, and then find a quality pass. Bernardo has dropped slightly in that aspect, although he’s still relatively press-resistant. Rodri is still strong in that area and is working his way back to full sharpness, but the players around him seem hesitant to take responsibility. Because they fear losing the ball, they rush their passes, which then get intercepted.

Nico González, in my opinion, is more press-resistant than O’Reilly. I would consider using him more in second halves.

Another issue is midfield consistency. We’ve already used four different midfield combinations. At the start of the season it was Reijnders, Nico and Foden. Then it became Nico, Foden and Bernardo. Now it’s Rodri, O’Reilly and Bernardo. Constant changes like this slow down chemistry and understanding. It will take time for these players to develop better cohesion as a unit.
