Bergomi: “Barella? I understand him. These guys never get any recognition. Last year it was all praise for ambition. Then people said they should have gone out of the CL earlier. A great team has to stay in the running for all objectives, but when you don’t achieve them, only the results matter”

  1. > You could tell on the pitch that they were becoming difficult to beat. To do it, you had to take incredible risks on the counterattack. Yesterday you needed to break the deadlock in the first half with Frattesi from a corner. They only allowed crosses, but they were good at dealing with them.

    > Credit to Bodø. In the last 24 days Inter have played seven demanding matches. They have players out injured and they couldn’t have done more against the opponent they faced, who was definitely in better shape. But Inter gave everything, as they have been doing for four years. They’ve gone through rounds that seemed impossible and other times they haven’t, but they always give everything they can. They’ve lost five out of six in the Champions League against strong teams, so at this level they may struggle more.

    > If I think back to where this team was in June, when they brought in a young coach… no one would have put them among the top sides. Instead, they started over and once again they’re there fighting. And they’re the only team in recent years that hasn’t gotten a season wrong, unlike Milan, Napoli, and Juventus. In my opinion, they deserve praise.

    > Of course, you’re left disappointed by the elimination and you feel the pain, but they have to move forward because they have other objectives. As Chivu says, you keep going and try to win as many matches as possible

I get it, they’re tired of being mocked for “coppa percorso”. Let’s hope they manage to win the Scudetto now

  3. The game was already lost in the first half. Second half the pressure builts and we collapse as usual. We should have been clinical but our strikers take 5 chances to score one goal like Lautaro and Thuram.
