Honestly we deserved to lose, but the VAR ref was clearly on a mission to screw us.
VAR showed the ref a pixelated frame of what looks like Courtois stomping on Budimir's foot to induce the penalty call. But there were other angles which showed that Courtois stepped on the ground first and the contact was minimal if there was any.. never a penalty.
But not only that, before the supposed stomp Budimir kicked Asencio in the leg.
I wonder if they will suspend this VAR ref for not showing the other angles or reviewing this foul, like they suspended the ref of the Girona-Barcelona, which barca fans are using as a huge PR win.

No foul there in my opinion.
It’s so strange that the ref was only shown one frame to make a decision. Other angles clear showed Asencio hooking the ball in another direction which budimir wasnt gonna get to. Nonetheless we still played horribly.

Not a foul. After you win this type of duel the challenge the player faces are not foul at all until it came from different motion. In this video both of them were trying to win the ball and raul won it so the foul on his leg while came from the motion of him trying to win the ball is not considered as a foul
Asencio also made a mistake in the second goal
My guy has to clear the ball better and Courtois needed to chill a bit
