Bryan Mbeumo: The star forward has been in excellent form since his arrival, recently providing the crucial assist for Benjamin Sesko’s winner against Everton. He has remained a preferred starter in Carrick’s front four, avoiding the fitness issues currently plaguing the squad and proving essential to United’s Champions League qualification push. His knock at the end of the match is not thought to keep him out of the team.
Lisandro Martinez: The Argentine missed United’s victory over Everton after suffering calf discomfort. While tests confirmed the issue is minor, it was a significant injury blow following his long-term ACL recovery. He is expected to return to training this week, with hopes he will be available for the upcoming clash against Crystal Palace.
Matthijs de Ligt: The Dutch defender remains sidelined with a persistent back problem that has kept him out of action since November. While he is reportedly edging towards a comeback, he was not ready for the trip to Merseyside. His potential return date is currently pencilled in for the March 4 fixture against Newcastle.
Patrick Dorgu: The defender-turned-winger faces a lengthy spell out after sustaining a serious hamstring injury. Carrick described the setback as “disappointing” for the young wing-back, who had made a bright start. He is expected to be out of action for several months, with a return unlikely before April.
Mason Mount: Continuing a frustrating cycle of fitness issues, Mount missed the last three games due to a minor training knock. Carrick has urged patience, noting that while the midfielder is getting closer to a first-team return, the club will not rush his recovery. He could return against Crystal Palace.
United’s medical room remains busy with several senior players currently sidelined. But Carrick’s side has maintained momentum, winning five of their last six matches to remain firm favourites for a top-five finish.
