With just 11 Premier League fixtures remaining, West Ham’s fight for survival is reaching a fever pitch.

Currently 18th, the Hammers are now just two points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest and four adrift of 16th-place Spurs.

Despite the pressure, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are the form team in the bottom half, giving fans hope of safety.

Amidst that push, one player has stood out — Axel Disasi — and now the club may be looking to make his stay permanent.

Disasi joined West Ham on loan from Chelsea in January and has quickly impressed. The 27-year-old France international has featured four times and remains unbeaten, helping the Irons keep three clean sheets in that period.

He has established himself as a crucial figure in Nuno’s starting XI, bolstering a defence that has struggled for consistency this season. Former West Ham scout Mick Brown has suggested the club could move to make the loan permanent in the summer.

Any deal, he notes, will depend on Premier League survival — but Disasi’s form has made a permanent switch an increasingly realistic option.

Brown: “West Ham Will Be Interested”

Disasi’s performances have silenced doubts and quickly made him a fan favourite at the London Stadium.

“Disasi has been very impressive so far for West Ham,” Brown told Football Insider. “It’s one of the major benefits of the loan system, you get to see players in your own environment who you might otherwise have had doubts about signing permanently.

“He’s gone in there, it looks like he fits in well with what Nuno Espírito Santo is trying to do, and he’s been a big upgrade on their other options.

“Centre-back has been a problem position at West Ham for some time, and I’m told people at the club have been very impressed with his performances.

“Chelsea obviously don’t want him, they left him out of their plans, so they’ll be open to a permanent move at the end of the season.

“It looks like that’s something West Ham will be interested too, if they stay in the Premier League, he continues to impress, and if the price is right.”

Disasi’s continued form and Premier League experience make him an ideal candidate to anchor West Ham’s defence long-term, and a summer move could provide both stability and reassurance for the Irons as they aim to secure top-flight survival.
