The first-team defender was the stand-out name on the team-sheet but there were others who starred in the victory, centre-back partner Josh Mullins and forward Amin Nabizada among them.

Michel Boni opened the scoring for the visitors, bursting beyond the Watford back-line and drilling into the corner.

The Hornets quickly established their authority on the game, though, Nabizada the main threat down the left.

The pressure did eventually tell, Josh Keyes hooking a smart volley into the top corner, before Amar Sanghrajka forced an own goal after a run and cross down the right.

The second half was largely one-way traffic, Jonathan Lawson joining Nabizada in causing havoc upfront for Aidy Mariappa’s side.

Alfie Marriott made a big save to keep his side in front on the hour mark but it was a rare Bees attack.

Nabizada had a couple of well-hit efforts blocked before finally latching onto a raking Mullins pass and dispatching into the corner.

That completed a comprehensive win that keeps them in the top five of the Professional U21 Development League table.

The game was followed by the news that Sanghrajka has extended his loan spell at St Albans City having made five appearances for them.
