Manchester City have announced a new partnership with UK-based sleep specialist Silentnight, further expanding the club’s commercial portfolio into the performance and wellbeing category.
Under the agreement, Silentnight joins as the club’s official sleep partner and will play an integral role in the upcoming launch of The Medlock, a Radisson Blu hotel currently under development at the Etihad Campus. Set to open later this year, the hotel forms part of Manchester City’s wider entertainment destination strategy.
As part of the collaboration, Silentnight will supply The Medlock with selected products, including mattresses and toppers, ensuring guests experience the brand’s sleep technology during their stay. Manchester City, The Medlock and Silentnight will also work together on joint marketing campaigns and product initiatives aimed at promoting better sleep for fans and visitors attending sport, music, business and leisure events at the campus.
Silentnight will additionally benefit from branding visibility at the Etihad Stadium, alongside activation across Manchester City’s digital and social media platforms.
Kaitlyn Beale, Vice-President of Global Partnership Sales, City Football Group, said, “Silentnight are a trusted and well-recognised brand in the UK, who share Manchester City’s commitment to innovation to deliver the highest standards of performance.
“We’re delighted to welcome the brand as an Official Partner of the Club and announce its integration within The Medlock. This announcement marks another key moment for the Club’s wider development plans, as we look towards the opening of the hotel later this year.”
Ian Lambert, Chief Marketing Officer at Silentnight Group, added, “We’re proud to be working with Manchester City at an exciting time for the Club’s development and as the importance of a good night’s sleep for mental wellbeing and physical performance becomes better understood.
“Those staying at The Medlock – whether for sport, music, leisure or work – will be able to rest and recharge on products designed to the very best comfort and support.”
For Silentnight, the partnership provides association with one of the most successful clubs of the modern era under manager Pep Guardiola, offering exposure to a global fanbase across domestic and European competitions.
The agreement also aligns with Manchester City’s broader commercial strategy of diversifying beyond traditional sponsorship sectors into health, lifestyle and experiential categories. The integration of a sleep partner within a hotel asset underscores the club’s ambition to create a fully integrated sports and entertainment ecosystem at the Etihad Campus.
With elite sport increasingly focused on marginal gains and holistic player wellbeing, partnerships centred on recovery and sleep reflect the continued evolution of football’s commercial and performance landscape, where infrastructure development and brand alignment operate in tandem.
