Despite the setback on the A-board, the Falcon in Falcon Street has had an application for a new look, with new signs and lighting approved by Ipswich Borough Council.
Currently, the pub features a rectangular plastic signs above the doorways, as well as swinging signs above the pavement and the pedestrianised Queen Street.

Now approved by Ipswich Borough Council, the outside of the pub will be painted a darker shade of grey, with handwritten signs on the brick work .
The sings above Queen Street and Falcon Street will also be replaced, featuring a new logo and the same new darker colour.
However, included in the application were plans for a new A-board, placed outside the pub, which have been excluded from approval.
In their letter of approval for the application, the council said that the board had been excluded in “the interests of highway safety and to avoid disability or discomfort glare for pedestrians and motorists.
