  1. Soft but yeah its a foul. I don't love that this is a habit of Gabriels tho. When he feels someone behind him regardless of how weak/strong the contact is he tends to flail a bit and it has cost us in the past. These aren't always given, kinda in the line. Obviously I get the point that he wants to make sure the ref sees its a foul but when its not given its basically a free goal for the opponent

  2. This was a goal, not a foul. You literally stated that Gabriel exaggerates to get the call. That is the definition of a Flop. We’re playing basketball now in the Prem. Overproduction has ruined it. Watch the Spurs Liverpool push and then tell me why that wasn’t given as a foul and the goal stood…

  3. It's a soft one but if it's Gyokeres on Ban de ven Tottenham fans are screaming foul simply put the ref called the foul var weren't overturning it and if he didn't give it I don't think var overturns it either

  4. Anywhere else on the pitch and refs waving Gabriel to get up. You are allowed contact that’s also in the rules and it couldn’t be any softer without touching him. Non of us would want that to be a foul

  5. Nah nah 😂, he was still on the ground after contact was made, he then jumps as he dives forward, simulation at its best 😂

Arsenal have done that to almost ever keeper in the league yet don't get disallowed goals for it, behave you lot

  6. I don't think you are allowed to contest for the ball with 2 hands in the opponent's back. I originally thought it's soft, but logically, the defender has no chance with 2 hands in his back.

  7. poor opinion. there's literally ZERO force by kolo muani. he's just making contact with both of his hands, gabriel should not be pushed over by this, it's theatrical as gabriel does not even leave the ground after the contact, he leaves it (he genuinely flies in the air) as soon as the ball's coming in.

also, you're using a still image to make your point (yes there are copyright issues but use 4-5 screenshots) but you won't as it would disprove your point.

please watch what arsenal do on corners, half of your set-piece goals would be disallowed if the ref started giving such fouls.

  8. If Gabriel does that to Pedro next week, they won’t give it. They’ll ring out the bs that Gabriel is “just stronger” than Pedro. You won’t see that given many more times this season, and every time it is a PGMOL apology will follow, I guarantee it

  9. The only people saying this isn't a foul are people who don't or haven't played football, if someone shoved you when you are jumping it's a foul, they gave a free kick to spurs because trossard manoeuvred one of the spurs players under the ball whilst he was jumping, it's the same thing

  10. Like he literally use both hands to nudge him in the bask jumping can but put off by the slightest push in the back it’s a foul simple stop blaming the Liverpool version on us 😂

  11. Is it soft, YES. Does gabi make a delicious meal out of it, YES. Is it a foul, YES. Are spurs fans crying and giving us even more ammo to laugh at them, YES😂

  12. Yes, it was a foul. When a player pushes with 2 hands, it's not acceptable. Of course, Gabriel overreacted but unfortunately if a player doesn't make a meal of it, he'll never get a free kick. It was crucial as well because Gabriel was the last man in defence.

  13. Sorry but this needs to leave Gabriel’s game, didn’t work out against Newcastle
If the ref gives a goal VAR won’t turn it over

Too risky just get the ball cleared

  14. It’s not 50/50 it’s a foul, and I keep the same standard of the Ekitike/Romero goal that was also a clear foul and injust it was wasn’t given. General inconsistency doesn’t invalidate an isolated incident

  15. I don't hate Arsenal, but this was never a push, even though still photos makes it look more like it.

And compare this to what Arsenal have been doing at their set-pieces all season, it's not even close.

If this is a fouls, Arsenal should be down a significant amount of goals, and probably also at the table.

It's easy to push the agenda-card, but if the ref had seen this on a screen, that's exactly the type of diving they're trained not to reward.

Gabriel is backing into a player that's holding his position, and fights to keep his space. That's completely legal, even though the still photo always will look like two hands pushing.

You can also see the center of gravity in this photo, and the weight is NOT towards Gabriel, because he's already read the ball coming over him.

Gabriel knows he's f'ed, backs into arms, and throws himself towards the ground, but chooses to raise his feet as well.

It's so unnatural, it's actually weird VAR doesn't tell the ref he should see it for himself.

Most people would HATE on this if it was a striker trying to get a penalty!

People don't hate on Arsenal for being in the number one spot.

They "hate" on it because it's the worst football for a number one placed team ever, and the way they've bullied goals.

And when this happens as well – it's actually well deserved, and unfortunately that will be remembered.

  16. I like how he explains it, but the discrepancies from game to game make the sport ridiculous. This happens all the time and happened last year in a NLD against Spurs. The goal stood and didn't count as a foul and it is a clear foul. This one is barely a touch on the back. If a foul was given everytime a player touched a player in the back with two hands the game wouldnt ever be finished because there would be more stoppage time than actual gameplay in normal time. This happens almost every game and it is never given or it is given as a yellow for simulation. The discrepancies between games and constant simulation are ruining the game.
