The centre back continued his fine form at the heart of the Bournemouth defence as the Cherries drew 0-0 at West Ham.

Hill has started the past nine games and that run has seen a positive turn in the team’s form.

He came into the side after the poor defeat at Brentford, and in the games since, the team have lost just once, to league leaders Arsenal.

They have been defensively much more solid, and in recent weeks have conceded few goals, with only two coming against Bournemouth in the past four matches.

Andoni Iraola’s side are seven games unbeaten, and, asked about that run, Hill told the Daily Echo: “I don’t think we think too much about this unbeaten run, but it is nice to know that it’s in the back of our heads.

“But at the same time, it’s just focusing on the next game and making sure the performance is better than the last one.

“But if we keep digging deep as a team, going away to places and, definitely at home, making it a lot harder to come to, I think we’ve got a good chance of just getting the results that we want going forward.”

On his own form, coming into the team during a tough run and helping the team to turn the form around, Hill said he was always ready to help the team whenever he was needed.

“I’ve been waiting for moments like this when called upon,” he said.

“And now that my opportunity’s come that I can finally show exactly what I can do.

“It’s been nice that obviously I’ve been given the opportunity just in the first place, and it’s an honour for myself to even put the kit on and play in these stadiums in front of incredible away fans.

“Today, I thought they were superb for us. But yeah, every game’s an absolute honour, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it so far, but still a long, long journey to go yet.

“So we just got to keep our heads down and keep going.”

Hill has formed a good partnership with Marcos Senesi at centre back, with the Argentine skippering the team on Saturday at West Ham.

On playing alongside Senesi, Hill said: “I’ve loved it.

“Ever since I first come to the club, I think me and Marcos have always had a good connection on and off the pitch.

“It’s just been obviously nice to come and play next to him and go into battles with him.

“I’ve really enjoyed it, and same with the rest of the boys. I think the rest of the boys have been phenomenal, even the new lads coming in, the whole team as a group have been really, really phenomenal.

“I think the best is yet to come from this team, and still a long period ago until the season ends. So yeah, we just all need to stick together and keep going.”

Hill praised the team for the draw at the Hammers.

“I don’t think we were at our 100 per cent best today, but nevertheless, I think we dug deep in the last couple of minutes,” he said.

“I think West Ham are a really good team, we’ve seen in recent weeks, and to come here, it’s a really tough place. So to come out with a clean sheet and take a point, yeah, we move on to the next one.”
