Leeds United have back-to-back Premier League home games awaiting after a draw at Aston Villa, taking on Manchester City and Sunderland next.

Daniel Farke’s hopes for Premier League safety have again been boosted as his side came away from one of our toughest away games remaining with a valuable point.

Again, it could and probably should have been all three points. Nevertheless, attention turns to the next game with Manchester City and Sunderland up next at Elland Road in the space of a few days.

Can Leeds United make Elland Road a daunting trip for Manchester City and Sunderland?

Six draws from the last seven away games is proof of what Farke’s trying to do when we’re on our travels. It’s making us harder to beat, and steadily notching points as a result.

Then, it allows us to really take the game to teams on home turf. After comprehensively beating Nottingham Forest, we have an almighty task at home to title-chasing Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side are back in the hunt behind Arsenal, and their first-half showing against Newcastle United has me worried. That being said, we shouldn’t fear anyone on our own turf. Our second-half performance at the Etihad has been the catalyst for this revival.

After that, Leeds host Sunderland in midweek. Another floodlit clash sure to get fans fired up, knowing our record in that environment.

Sunderland dealt hammer blow to Nordi Mukiele – Leaves Fulham defeat in tears with injury

As Leeds look to this Elland Road double-header, there’s some hope that Rodri might be banned for Man City’s clash here due to a recent FA charge.

However, the Black Cats could come to West Yorkshire likely without star summer signing Nordi Mukiele. The French right-back has been in dazzling form ever since his move to the Stadium of Light. Today, though, he was forced off early against the Cottagers.

Per the Chronicle, Mukiele’s injury stemmed from an incident in the eighth minute with no players around him, going to ground before trying to continue. In the 12th minute, he was replaced and as he left the field he was seen wiping away tears. Captain Granit Xhaka was quick to console the 28-year-old.

The severity of injury is unconfirmed. However, the nature of how he went to ground away from any other player, and then his distress at being subbed off, suggests he could be absent for that game at Elland Road.

January signing Jocelin Ta Bi was also hooked in the first half through injury too.

Leeds United need to capitalise on stunning home form to move clear of relegation trouble

Our home form under Farke is going to be the difference this season. If we are to stay up, you’ll be pointing to the performances since December on our home turf as the reason.

Yes, we look much more organised and sterner on the road. Although, our performances go up several levels when we play at Elland Road. Especially under the lights.

Man City might be seen as a write-off to some. But, we have a lot of ‘favourable’ home games remaining to target wins. That includes a Sunderland side without one of their best and most influential players.
