It seems this season has had an uptick in fans trickling in and flooding the sub with very reactionary, and agenda-driven posts.

It’s normal that with social media and Madrid having some of the most recognizable names on the planet in their squad, the 2023 UCL run would have brought a massive increase in supporters. I’ve seen many of the OP’s here have relatively new accounts or just be younger in general.

I point this out because I think to any fan that’s been following this team a while, you’ll know that this is yet another cycle, during another era, in Madrid history. The story of this club keeps repeating itself because of how it’s run and it’s what’s made it the best sports club to ever exist.

I am not diminishing or gatekeeping any fans’ attachment and loyalty to the club, new or old. I’d just like to put into perspective for some who are new or who have forgotten what this club is and always will be.

This club will:

– Always have the best or most marketable player on the planet, despite having other positional needs.

– Go through 10 managers before they question if any stars are the problem.

– Always build a squad around talent rather than system.

– Never have a manager bigger than its stars.

– Never spend money in the winter.

– Never prioritize homegrown talent.

These are the basics that have been true since the 90s. If you are okay with this, then this is the club for you.

As an aside…I suggest that before a reactionary post is made, you look up the history of the Zidane, R9, Beckham era. A lot of y’all wouldn’t have survived that era.

  1. And for the record. This account I’m posting on is newer. Made it specifically for football because I couldn’t stand the constant reactionary post on my other acct. I’ve been here a while.

  2. Just because we have done certain things one way and they used to work, doesn’t mean they will keep working

ronaldo is a serial winner on the club level, mbappe has won no relevant trophy at the club level to get “bigger than the club” treatment

  4. A fan can react however the hell they want it doesn’t make them more or less of a fan. And no it’s not the same as before because before we had a president that cares running the club now we have a bunch of spoiled social media warriors running it.

It took Mbappe to not score in one game for everyone to start hating on him.

I hope he leaves, this fanbase doesn’t deserve him. At this point any PL club would be better for him.

  6. Reacting to a knee jerk post from the instigators is stupid, . Plain and simple. There are obvious flaws in how this side is structured, and avoidable redundancy too.
To Think this team needs a manager who lets players dictate everything is a prayer, not a strategy.
We don’t have the quality to back that up, especially in defense. Talent won in the past as the team had players seasoned and consistent, not a bunch of ‘talent’ sprayed across the squad.
