Darwin Nunez

Newcastle and Tottenham have been linked with a move for former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, with the striker said to be keen on a return to the Premier League.

Nunez left Anfield for Saudi Pro-League side Al-Hilal last summer and has nine goals this season, but the arrival of Karim Benzema saw him dropped from their league squad and left out in the cold.

The 26-year-old hit 40 goals in 143 appearances for Liverpool, but never establshed himself as first choice under either Jurgen Klopp nor Arne Slot.

Now Teamtalk report Newcastle and Spurs are monitoring the Uruquay international’s situation, although his reported £400,000-a-week salary would be a major stumbling block over any move.

Hugo Bueno

Wolves defender Hugo Bueno is on Newcastle’s radar, according to reports from Football Insider. The 23-year-old Spanish left-back has been reportedly identified as the ideal player to offer competition for Lewis Hall.

United are short on cover in the full-back positions, with Tino Livramento currently out until March, meaning Kieran Trippier and Hall have had to play the majoity of games.

Trippier’s contract expires this summer, with the former England defender turning 36 in September, and Newcastle are thought to be looking for a full-back in the summer window.

Bueno joined Wolves’ academy in 2019 and had a spell on loan at Feyenoord before establishing himself as a regular this season. However, if Wolves are relegated to the Championship, he is one of several players the Molineux club could sell.

Anthony Gordon

While Newcastle winger Gordon has dismissed speculation over his future as ‘rubbish’ in recent weeks, that has not stopped more reports over a potential summer exit.

Liverpool have again been linked with the England forward should Mo Salah at the end of the season, with reports in Spain claiming he is top of Arne Slot’s wishlist. However, Gordon does not favour the right-hand attacking role currently occupied by Salah.

Joe Gomez

Newcastle may have to act fast if they are to follow up on any interest in Liverpool defender Joe Gomez. United have previously been linked with the versatile England defender, who can play at full-back as well as in the centre of defence.

He looks set to leave Anfield this summer, but reports suggest AC Milan and Bayern Munich currently head the queue for his signature.

Now 28, he would fit the bill for United’s needs, but the pricetag may prove too expensive.

Liam Delap

Reports suggest former Newcastle transfer target Liam Delap could be on the move again, with Everton keen on the Chelsea striker.

United lost out in the race to sign him from Ipswich Town last summer, and could again make a move for the 23-year-old should he become available.

His switch to Stamford Bridge has not worked out for either party, and Teamtalk report Everton are ready to make a move at the end of the season.
