Ramsey replaces Harvey Barnes in Newcastle’s starting XI as Eddie Howe tries to engineer the Magpies’ first win at the Etihad in a Premier League fixture.

Anthony Gordon is set to continue playing as a central striker, although it remains to be seen where Nick Woltemade lines up against City.

The German could remain in the midfield role he has filled in Newcastle’s last two matches, or could be pushed further forward into a wide-attacking position on the left-hand side.

While Eddie Howe had suggested Sven Botman would return to the squad when he addressed the press in his pre-match press conference yesterday, the Dutch centre-half does not feature in the match-day group.

Erling Haaland is named in Manchester City’s starting line-up, along with Antoine Semenyo and Omar Marmoush.
