Despite dominating possession and controlling games, FC Barcelona are still dropping points — and the reasons go far deeper than one bad performance. This video breaks down why control hasn’t translated into dominance under Hansi Flick, examining the tactical patterns, recurring mistakes, and mental lapses that continue to expose Barça throughout the season. From midfield structure and defensive transitions to decision-making in key moments, we explore where the system is breaking down — and why simply blaming the high line misses the bigger picture. Most importantly, this analysis proposes a bold but realistic solution that could restore balance, increase attacking threat, and reduce defensive exposure as the season progresses. This is not a reaction — it’s a roadmap for what Barcelona must change if they want to compete at the highest level again.

  1. 1️⃣1️⃣ Raphinha will cause more chaos and destabilize any opponent's defense as a No.9 or striker than Rashford. Raphinha moves a lot and is way more unpredictable ; he'll also be the first player to trigger a press whenever the other opposition has the ball around their box. Rashford can stay on the wings, just for the runs and movements.

I'd also put a double pivot of Frenkie De Jong – E. Garcia and have Pedri behind Raphinha (while allowing him to freely move, drop and combine with FDJ when needed).

  2. Roony Yamal Rapha and Rashford can share the attack, Yamal more at a false 9, Roony Right, Rashford left, Rapha more center forward. Roony is the key to free Yamal, they will have a terrible time trying to double mark Yamal with Roony there, Rashford is good but Rapha is better without the ball, and so he can conduct the orchestra from up there

  3. Gavi is approaching recovery, his tenacity and intensity would fit Flick's style. I actually pity Dani Olmo he might loss his place soon. Gavi is strong, he marks, he has very good defensive awareness, can be used very well in the pivot with Frenkie and/or Pedri and he has leadership qualities.

  4. Same thing Real Madrid doing with Mbappe , Rash can do it up front , so sometime we can even drop the high line and when a team pushes foward Rash can eat that space

  5. I dont understand why hansi is not playing lamine or rapha as a false 9. These players would thrive with that much freedom. Now they are getting doubled on the wings and they need to run so much up and down that you'll lose their goal threat

  6. But rashy has been a bit inconsistent with his finishing in front of the goal especially in 1v1 situations and also he dosent really press that good to the likes of oshimen its a good shout but i dont think it will completely solve anything

  7. I think Rashford cannot play at number 9 position simply because he looks too scared to shoot, he just passes the ball even if he doesn’t have to, don’t get me wrong but the number 9 needs someone who can shoot when he gets the chance to

  8. I was thinking of this for so long, I was hoping to start Rashford as a striker by Flick. But I don't know why I think this man don't want to play Rashford as a striker. He will be a beast over there as he started his career as a striker he will deffinetly going to be score for us. If he not but at least can do better then our plastic shark🙂

  9. Rashford as a striker wont work . His off ball movement is not great and his hold up play is not great either . He wants the ball at feet and he's not patient enough to wait for balls to come to him

  10. Yes, that's all true, but I'm 100% certain that Flick won't make any changes! Not a single one. He'll just hope that Pedri returns and things will get better. That's it. Because you need to understand, Flick is a very limited coach and incredibly stubborn, and this year will be a failure on all fronts

  11. Exactly bro. tbh, I’ve been using Rashford as a central striker in fc26 for a custom team I made in career mode. Im doing it with barca too in kick off because he has the traits to do it better than Ferran
