In came Florian Wirtz, who was the Premier League‘s record signing, then in came Hugo Ekitike, before Alexander Isak finally arrived to break Wirtz’s brief record as well as the Premier League’s. It was emphatic from Liverpool.

What’s more, when Isak finally looked ready to make his mark at his new club, a leg-breaking challenge sent him back to square one at the exact same time that he found the back of the net against Tottenham Hotspur.
Nonetheless, FSG haven’t been put off by Isak’s struggles. They’re ready to spend big yet again this summer. According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are prepared to launch a club-record offer to sign Michael Olise, spending around €200m (£175m).
Why Olise would be the perfect Salah replacement
Another problem that Liverpool have had beside waiting for new signings to settle has been the form of Mohamed Salah. From a record-breaking campaign last time out, the Egyptian’s powers have shown signs of fading this season with just seven goals and eight assists to his name.
Add in his mid-season spat with Slot and it looks increasingly likely that a modern-day legend is likely to bow out of Anfield sooner rather than later.
That is where Olise comes in. Replacing Salah will be Liverpool’s very own mission impossible, but Olise should be their top candidate to do exactly that.

The former Crystal Palace winger has been in outrageous form this season, with 25 assists the standout number. It’s no surprise that he was dubbed “brilliant” by France manager Didier Deschamps and, at just 24 years old, he’s only likely to get even better.
It’s also worth noting that Olise’s best trait is his ability to create. He’s not the goalscoring forward that Salah became at Liverpool and that could be to the benefit of Isak.
