  1. It’s bad that racism happens in football or at all. However, it will always happen (it shouldn’t) but giving it the attention that it gets unfortunately makes things worse. Have to just get on with it and deal with it off the pitch.

  2. Argentinean footballer.. Not surprised. He's a coward and that's why Benfica will be eliminated. Poor and disgraceful stadium. Throwing things at a player for complaining about racism. Disgusting

  3. It's become a psycho-social phenomenon that i can hardly fathom. Is it really because of the type of animal he is called that he gets so bent out of shape? Would there be as much of an outrage if someone called him a horse? I dont get it. Now if someone went on a dissertation that included several other adjectives, a reference to slavery, a stereotypical remark, etc. then i can see racism. Calling someone, anyone, a monkey is as infantile as calling someone a dummy. But that's all it is. Infantile.

  4. This is why I don’t follow football. I never encouraged my son in the sport . I associate that one sport with yobs and racism.

My own nephew wanted to be a professional footballer and faced a lot of racism trying to make that dream come true. In the end he decided he didn’t want to be part of that culture. That was a decade ago. Yet today here we are , it’s still the same 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

  5. Support your teammate by advising him to reign in his personality and decision making. The guy could've let his great goal speak for itself instead of doing that ridiculous and offensive act at the corner flag in an away game stadium and high stakes match. These narcissistic celebrations are getting out of control, and TV equally to blame for the coverage – even slo mo replays of knee slides, ridiculous.
