Jurgen Klopp turned down two Premier League rivals after leaving Liverpool.

Klopp called time on his eight-and-a-half years in the Anfield at the end of the 2023/24 season and vowed that he would not manage another English club.

However that did not stop Manchester United and Chelsea making enquiries to the German prior to his current role as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer.

His agent Marc Kosicke made the revelations ahead of Klopp’s return to Merseyside in the LFC Legends’ charity match with Borussia Dortmund.

“Maybe at some point he’ll say he needs to smell the locker room again. But at the moment he’s very, very happy in his role,” he told Transfermarkt.

“Before joining Red Bull, Jurgen could have coached the USA or England. Probably also Germany, if Julian Nagelsmann hadn’t already been there.

“Even Chelsea and Manchester United inquired, although Jurgen had clearly stated that he would not coach any other club in England. These inquiries keep coming.

“He’s extremely happy with what he’s achieved. And it’s still wonderful to go down in history as one of the few coaches who only managed three clubs and were never fired.”
