The unsettled weather in the UK means many people have already started looking for trips abroad to enjoy a bit of warmth and sun. The UK has some of the best airports in Europe and Liverpool John Lennon Airport is among them.

Whether you want to soak up the sun on a beautiful beach or explore some of the world’s most fascinating cities, Liverpool John Lennon Airport has flights available for you. You can fly to Milan Bergamo Airport in April for as little as £42 for a return flight for three days.

If you board a Ryanair flight at 8.05pm on Wednesday April 15 you can arrive in Milan for 11.15pm. Your flight home will be on Saturday April 18 at 4pm and you will be back in Liverpool for 5.15pm.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s description of Milan, said: “You can fly from Liverpool Airport to Milan, one of Europe’s great cities and the gateway to some of the best slopes in Italy.” Milan has so much to offer from its fashion to culture and football.

Situated at the base of the Alps, it is the ideal location to travel to for your winter sports getaway. Valli de Susa and Champoluc are located close to the airport, taking just two hours to reach by coach.

If you don’t mind travelling slightly further, resorts such as Breuil Cervinia, Pila, Courmayeur and Sauze d’Oulx are only a two and a half-hour journey from the airport. Bergamo is the gateway to some incredible Italian ski resorts.

Italian ski resorts are also famous for their fantastic après ski, so no matter whether you’re a beginner on the slopes or a pro skier or snowboarder, you should leave time for social activities too.

Liverpool airport has shared advice for when people should visit Milan, it said: “The European ski season typically runs between mid-November and mid-April. We advise travelling to Milan during December, January or February if you want to hit the slopes.

“Visiting during these months means you can make the most of the incredible Italian winter sports weather. Meanwhile, booking your Liverpool to Milan flights in early spring means you can combine your skiing holiday with a spot of sightseeing.”

Guidance shared by Time Out magazine for tourists visiting Milan, said: “After exploring the Duomo, the Galleria and La Scala, take a bus or tram out to some of the farther reaches of Milan for truly unique museums that never feel as crowded as the centre city attractions.

“Fondazione Prada, Pirelli HangarBicocca and MUDEC are all housed in interesting buildings and feature permanent and rotating exhibitions worth your time.”
