The thing with a player of Rice's profile, his game makes it hard to criticize him. If he has 3 or 4 passing options, he'll pick the easiest one. So, it'll be hard to find him making mistakes. Rice doesn't really have to take any responsibility on the ball, which makes his job very easy. His best quality, by a huge margin, is running and disrupting play. That's more about mindset than actual talent. But he's English, so only someone like Souness will say he lacks bravery on the ball.

We (Arsenal) bottled the league this year as we did two years ago. No way in hell we can win the league with this level of performance. But teams like Chelsea and Liverpool should not be off the hook as they have spent so much money with no palpable improvement.
