Newcastle United are now keeping tabs on a Premier League attacker, who could become the solution to their attacking problems in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle eyeing £37.5m attacker
After losing Alexander Isak for a Premier League-record transfer fee in the summer, Newcastle were always likely to endure a rough transition. They were left to rebuild the centre of their frontline and didn’t help themselves by leaving it late to finally welcome Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade.
Like Isak, however, both players didn’t come cheap. Woltemade even cost Newcastle a club-record fee, but is yet to fill the golden boots that Isak left behind.

The same can be said for Anthony Elanga. The Swede has arguably been the most disappointing signing of the lot, having only recently netted his first goal for the club against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
His form has raised serious questions for Eddie Howe, who admitted that Newcastle were controlled by PSR during the January transfer window.

He could be an upgrade on Wissa and Woltemade.
Given their position with the financial regulations, the last thing that Newcastle need from here is to waste more money. And that’s why the summer transfer window is so important. The Magpies must get things right.
To that end, however, recent rumours have certainly suggested that a positive summer could be on the way. The likes of Dusan Vlahovic, and Carlos Augusto are just two names on the Magpies’ radar.

Meanwhile, according to Sports Boom, Newcastle are also eyeing a move to sign Omari Hutchinson from Nottingham Forest just one year after his record move to the City Ground.
Newcastle must be wary of Elanga repeat with Hutchinson
After Nottingham Forest splashed out a club-record £37.5m to sign Hutchinson from Ipswich Town last summer, a move is unlikely to come cheap for Newcastle one year on, even though the winger shares an agent with Bruno Guimaraes.
They must, therefore, proceed with plenty of caution. It wasn’t so long ago that St James’ Park chiefs were impressed by Elanga’s time at Forest, before launching a £55m move and that has since shown every sign of becoming a transfer regret.

The Magpies must not make the same mistake with Hutchinson, unless Nottingham Forest decide to offer a cut-price deal amid relegation concerns.
Although dubbed “terrific” for the just-sacked Sean Dyche at Forest earlier this season, Hutchinson’s numbers don’t reflect the hefty price tag that he arrived with last summer.

To say that Newcastle could do without yet another under-firing attacker would be a major understatement. PIF and new sporting director Ross Wilson must spend wisely and that may force them to opt out of any potential move for Hutchinson.
