Gyokeres stats this season

  1. I feel like the whole Gyökeres debate is a rollercoaster. At least if you read Swedish news outlets, one week Gyökeres is absolute trash and there’s rumors that Arsenal doesn’t like him, the next week he’s great and provides so much to the team.

Meanwhile they never mention Isak in any negative way. Any other Swedes that can confirm this?

  2. My only gripe with the with vs without Gyokeres stats is that most of the time Gyokeres was our only striker. So if he didn’t start it wasn’t because Jesus or Kai were starting, up until this year… Unless all those stats are from 2026

Far too many confounding variables to make any causal attributions for the win percentage stat.

We can all agree theres been a massive improvement since January though. Hope it continues.

The biggest takeaway from these stats is that those that dislike him will be able to find reasons why he’s shit and those that like him will find things to back up that he’s doing a good job.

As with most things, he sits comfortably in the middle of those things thus far for me.

  5. The goals scored is higher when he doesn’t start though, I’d attribute the goals against being higher largely down to injuries to Saliba and Gabriel in some of those games

Those stats for the promoted sides are CRAZY. Happy for him but he’s gotta find a way to score in big games too (outside of CL).

  7. I’m more interested in what happens when Gyok is on the pitch vs off the pitch in games where he’s subbed off or on. That spate of games where the team conceded almost immediately after he was taken off is probably a better indication of the impact he has on the opposition.

  8. Young man, new country, new league (and the toughest in the world, maybe tougher than it’s ever been too), no pre-season (at all, let alone with his new teammates in his new environment), forced to play almost every minute almost straight away ‘cause there were no other options in his position…he’s doing fine. He’s not Henry, but he’s not Sanogo either.

  9. The promoted side stats are very misleading, because 2 of those teams are comfortably mid table.

Makes it sound like he’s bashing the crap teams…

  10. I think this sums up my thoughts. He’s been okay. Didn’t change our attack much but also hasn’t been horrible like some people are set on. Just average to below average to decent throughout games.

  11. Win percentage and goals scored at odds when talking about a striker. Makes this whole thing irrelevant.

  12. The “vs promoted sides” thing is so overstated. I think it’s far more about game-state than opponent quality, as we’ve seen with his Champion’s league performances. Not to mention that the promoted teams are actually good? (ignore Burnley)

(also, this only seems to get held against him. Nobody cares that Ekitike hasn’t scored a single goal against a top team, even in europe)

  13. I feel like he’s been hot and cold all season mostly cold for me.

He’s been improved over the last few games but things like this in 2026 thing. It’s 10th feb on me writing this. It’s like 6 games. It’s encouraging but let’s not pretend that the last few months and 2025 didn’t exist.
