On Sunday, we asked Newcastle United fans the question – Do you now want Eddie Howe sacked, or continue and at the end of the season he and the club evaluate everything?

When asking NUFC supporters to vote, we mentioned how it is so difficult at times to judge things properly, when so much is said on social media and often those with the most extreme views, positive and negative, getting the most attention.

So we thought it worthwhile to gauge how thousands of Newcastle United fans feel about Eddie Howe and things this season.

A snapshot of opinion on how people are feeling at this moment in time.

As Newcastle United fans, do you want to give it to the end of the season and a chance for the club and Eddie Howe to evaluate everything then.

Or are you a Newcastle United fan who thinks it would be a good idea to sack Eddie Howe at this moment in time?

As I say, very difficult to gauge what the silent majority of Newcastle United fans think, with all this noise on social media and online generally.

So we asked Newcastle United fans to choose from the two options below, what fits best with how they think.

Here are the two options and the percentage of fans who voted for each of them:

14% Eddie Howe to be sacked now

86% Eddie Howe to continue and he and the club evaluate everything at the end of the season

Many thanks to the thousands of Newcastle United fans who took the time to vote.

An overwhelming vote in favour of NOT sacking Eddie Howe during this season, with better than one in seven fans who voted, not wanting the manager to leave during this season.

As stated earlier, it is so difficult in this modern day world where you a bit like graffiti, what you see on social media and online generally, can make it look like a lot more people are involved than is reality.

My personal view is that I think it would be madness to want Eddie Howe to be sacked mid-season.

I was hoping that the public vote would back that view up and it obviously has done so, with that overwhelming result from Newcastle United fans. You can never be sure what the (largely) silent majority of NUFC supporters are thinking as an overall fanbase and so it is a big help to carry out this kind of exercise to find out.

Best of luck to Eddie Howe and the Newcastle United players in getting back to winning form in the weeks and months (and years…) ahead.
