Everton enjoyed their trip to the capital on Saturday.

Everton ran out 2-1 winners over Fulham at Craven Cottage, with David Moyes‘ side extending their unbeaten run to five Premier League games.

Fulham did take an early lead through a Vitaliy Mykolenko own goal, but a 76th-minute strike from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was followed by an own goal for the Cottagers too, as Bernd Leno punched the ball into his own net.

Everton hadn’t completed a league double over Fulham since 2014, but that’s not the only piece of Toffees history made at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

It’s tough to exactly put your finger on it, but there is something undeniable about Craven Cottage that makes it a real tough venue for travelling sides.

Indeed, 23 of Fulham’s 34 points have came at home this season, with a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on 7 December last year being the last time they tasted a league defeat on home soil prior to Saturday.

However, Everton arrived there confident after Beto’s 97th-minute equaliser earned a point at Brighton last time out, and it was more late drama that secured points this time out too.

As it goes, Everton have been better on their travels this season, with 21 of their 37 points coming from away matches.

But, these three points on Saturday held more weight for the Toffees than usual, as they came with an added bonus of a piece of club history being written too.
