Given Arsenal are top of the Premier League, there’s a good chance a lot of people will have a few Gunners in their best XIs for this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been dominant, especially in defence, meaning that any end of season awards will likely see Arsenal players involved.

Still, there has been some debate around this subject for a few weeks now. Paul Scholes – Arsenal fans’ current ‘favourite’ pundit – has suggested nobody in the attacking area of the pitch would get in.

And while Scholes may have some people agreeing with him somewhere, Arsenal do have stronger claims in other positions.

Indeed, Man City’s winger Antoine Semenyo has named two Arsenal players in his best XI.

Two Arsenal players included in Antoine Semenyo’s team of the season

Antoine Semenyo is having the season of his life in fairness to him and is in a good place to judge others right now.

Semenyo’s rise at Bournemouth has only continued at Man City as well, after an excellent start to his career in Manchester.

Still, when selecting the current best XI for the Premier League season, Semenyo couldn’t help but name two Arsenal players.

Semenyo selected both William Saliba and Declan Rice in an interview with Sky Sports, albeit he did go very City dominant in the final third.

Nevertheless, getting a nod from a title rival is quite the praise and Rice and Saliba are rightly included.

Which other Arsenal players could Semenyo have chosen?

Obviously, this is Semenyo’s opinion and he’s gone with who he believes are the best XI.

However, Arsenal do have a few other players who could at least make a claim to be included.

Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes have both been outstanding at the back and even prior to getting injured, Riccardo Calafiori looked imperious.

In fairness, the attacking options probably don’t make it, albeit Bukayo Saka has had his moments.

Come the end of the season, it would be a huge surprise if Arsenal only have two in the final, official team of the season.
