But some guy on this sub just finished telling me homophobia doesnt exist in the UK anymore

  2. Leeds fan here. Read the article and sounds like every football match (not just Leeds), a few arseholes and many good people.

The colour of your team shirt does not denote you a good or bad person!

Sigh. Happens everytime we play Brighton. Obviously out of order but pure shit attempt at banter as well.

Sadly, you have them in every fan base. The most braindead, waffling gammon fans who used to sit behind me would use anti-gay pejorative words like *poof* for players diving and rolling around. Also are the same people who’d mutter under their breath about us having “too many black players nowadays but you can’t really say that anymore”

It’s a big problem with homosexuality only really being accepted by most people and had education around it, in the last decade or 2. So the majority of fans, especially of clubs with older fan bases like Sunderland, have grown up in a society and culture that’s hostile and hateful towards homosexuals and homosexuality

Majority of football fans are still bigots in this regard. They might not say anything but they think it.

  6. Same people saying “leave politics out of of football” are the ones directing/ not condemning homophobic abuse
