The Seagulls brought back Pascal Gross and Matt O’Riley in the winter window while allowing Brajan Gruda on loan.

There was also business involving players who have not generally been involved in matchdays.

Albion now prepare to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Head coach Hurzeler told a press conference: “I always emphasise that I’m really happy to work with this squad.

“Of course, there were some players who left the club for getting more game time but overall I still see we have a good depth in the squad, we have a lot of quality, a lot of potential.

“We have a good mix between old and young players and therefore it’s now about us to make the best out of it, to have a good final part of the season and try to achieve the things we want to achieve.”

Back-up winger Tommy Watson and Gruda, who has been used wide, are no longer on board with no recognised attacking width brought in.

Hurzeler said: “We are satisfied, I’m satisfied.

“I have a daily exchange with the persons who are responsible for that and therefore we all know that we have a strong squad and now it’s about performance.

“Now it’s about getting the results we want to have and for that we have the squad.

“We have the squad to achieve the things we want to achieve and therefore we go for it.”
