The 20-year-old winger arrived to Reading on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season, fresh from his first goal involvement for the Villa first-team in a dramatic 3-2 victory over Red Bull Salzburg last month.

“I’m really excited to get going and show the fans what I can bring to the team,” Kadan told RoyalsTV.

“I bring pace, directness, one-versus-one ability and runs in behind, everything. Goals, assists, I’ve got it all.

“Everyone knows what the goal is that we have in mind and where we want to be come the end of the season. That is what I’m here to help with.

“The biggest thing is getting to grips with the manager, style of play and my teammates. It’s about gelling my personality and abilities into the team.

“I’m looking to just be me when I step over that line and bring my abilities to the team to help us win as many games as possible towards the end of the season to meet our goals.”

Kadan has spent more than a decade at Bodymoor Heath and has made four appearances for Villa, as well as taking in a short-term loan spell with Royal Antwerp last year, a period where he learnt a lot about himself.

“It was massive [Villa assist against RB Salzburg] because of the magnitude of the game and it being the winning goal. It was a great feeling. I’ve been with Aston Villa since I was 10 so a good while now. It’s every young Villa boy’s dream.

“It [loan in Antwerp] was good. I learnt a lot from it, both positive and negative. Hopefully I can bring that to Reading.”

Young will be hoping his Reading FC switch is more successful than his previous loan to Belgian side Royal Antwerp, as he played only 65 league minutes for the club last season. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is hoping that League One will be a great level for the England Under-19 forward to develop.

After the Europa League match where Kadan Young assisted, Emery said: “We have the responsibility with the young players. Why? Because we believe in the young players and the academy we have. And we are trying to develop with those players getting a process, doing a plan, and then trying to give them chances to play, like [on Thursday].

“Jamal Jimoh-Aloba after he played, maybe he’s going on loan, because we spoke this morning, about the possibility to play consistently during the last four months in a club outside from here, and continue his process. This is the plan with him.

“And George Hemmings, Kadan Young before as well, other young players we used, of course, they are always working with us because we are working a lot of days with the with academy players, and we are sometimes sharing our training sessions with them.”

Kadan is eligible to make his Royals debut at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
