  1. It should be a red plain and simple. There shouldn't be a need to have you studs at someone's knee height for a challenge, grab him by the shirt or just body block him.

  2. Its a red but because its City and they are so good, they did not wanna give them help, let's be real. If a City player say Walker did that while on a yellow,it wouldn't get reversed from a red

  3. At the time, for me it didn't look malicious and a yellow seemed correct but hearing this was a tactical foul has given me a bad feeling for the game.
    I do not like this.

  4. Does this not support an argument for time penalties in football; like loads of other sports. It's either a caution or off for the rest of the match which leads to more grey areas. This was the type of tackle that deserved off for 10 minutes and if players knew this was always the punishment instead of just a caution they would be less likely to do it.

  5. Im gonna start off by saying I am a City fan. It makes me mad that Trippier went at De Bruynes knee for a tactical foul. Anything at the knees is close to a red for me

  6. Let's talk about the fouls on DΓaz. Dalot from behind and Varane playing rugby ? What about little Bruno time wasting with the ball ?

  7. Dan is exactly the type of mug to pronounce Trippier's name as "Trippy-A". Why does that not suprise me. He's not French Dan, you utter cretin.

  8. Gentlemen, lie to yourselves all you want, that was a straight red all day long. All this decision will cause is bad behaviour from players and it will become difficult for refs to control games down the line. The rest is now just people happy for the underdog to have a chance. That's the difference between the EPL and other leagues, match officials are inconsistent and therefore have a say in the results and this is why English teams, though brilliant, aren't as successful on the continental and international stage

  9. Dan’s question makes no sense because if he was stretchered off there must have been something to cause that therefore the scenario has changed. It’s a simple trip no professional footballer is getting stretchered off by a trip and this is from a neutral. Irrelevant question.

  10. "Trip" someone knee-high? hmmm…
If going in knee high is no different than a little shirt pull, I don't know what we're doing.
At the very least, maybe this is an action (an over the top cynical challenge) for which the 'sin bin', a 10-15 minute Red Card, should be brought in
I don't think the severity of injury should impact the card shown, but the mechanics of booting someone's knee is more likely to cause serious injury (minimising such an outcome being the main reason for a straight red) than a trip around the shin/ankle area or a shirt pull.

  11. Trippier leaves the ground with both feet, so is not in control, if de bruyne isn't as quick 2 evade the tackle it could of been worse, also de bruyne sees the tackle & avoids it, it's only thru avoiding the tackle he avoids injury

  12. Referee wouldn’t answer Dan’s simple question. I was wanting to know the answer too but he kept dodging it. No clue why
