Manchester United should be setting up for a big summer transfer window, especially if Champions League football is secured.

While Ineos were very quiet in January, in the long term, it should set up Manchester United for a productive summer window.

Everyone knows that the plan is to overhaul the midfield department now that Casemiro’s exit is confirmed.

Ineos have had success shopping within the Premier League, with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha making an instant impact after arriving last summer.

United will likely repeat that strategy with Elliot Anderson as their top target. But transfer expert David Ornstein is also sounding alarms about a potential Morgan Rogers saga in the summer.

Via The Athletic, Ornstein named Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers as “one to watch” this summer because of interest he is attracting.

Rogers has been flying for Unai Emery’s side this season, with seven goals and five assists in the Premier League already.

United fans know better than anyone just how impressive Rogers has been this season. He scored two incredible goals as United lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in December.

While Rogers has a contract until 2031 at Villa Park, Ornstein believes his impressive form and pending place in the England World Cup squad could attract plenty of interest in his signature this summer.

Interestingly, Carrick has worked with Rogers before at Middlesbrough and was full of praise for the 23-year-old. If he is kept on as the permanent head coach, it could lean in United’s favour.

Morgan Rogers has already flirted with Man United

After starring for Villa against United in December, Rogers spoke very highly of United in his post-match comments.

Rogers said: “It’s massive. Every game is important, there’s no bigger team than Man United.”

With three wins in a row under Michael Carrick, United are now putting pressure on Aston Villa in the Premier League table.

United are up to fourth and are looking like strong contenders for Champions League qualification. Villa have only won two of their last five matches, meaning the Red Devils are now just five points behind them in the standings.

If United can qualify for Champions League football, the idea of making a move to Old Trafford becomes all the more appealing to players like Rogers.
