Absolutely love to see Ben's new analysis video!
Is Xavi Simons becoming Tottenham's most IMPORTANT player?
His acceleration after the slide tackle was really nice to see. He's got it.
Great content love to see Xavi getting his flowers 💐 I noticed Pep talk to one of his coaches in 1st half gesturing how Xavi uses his shoulder drop to open the pitch up when he receives – class player!
Recent games? i feel like the trend of playing dreadfully in the first half and playing well in the second half has been there for a while, since Poch days.
Simons is our Wirtz. Next season we need to see Palhinha-Maddison-Xavi starting week in week out.
Thank you Eze
Tweaks? He changed formation and subbed off our captain. That was the first brave thing we've seen him do at that stage of a game. I think needs must, and so be it if we get that third man in the midfield at United. We can't let Fernandes dictate even for a half.
Three at the back doesn't work in the EPL
I hope he doesn't suffer injury
Ben love the video as always! Why don’t you and seb consider collaborating with the guys at wearetottenhamtv, you both have very similar views on Tottenham and I think it would be great to get your name out to a bigger Tottenham community!
I really like Sarr. I don't know why he got dropped for Bentancur after we started the season so well. He's not brilliant, but he makes progressive runs, ability to drift wide and spread the play, not a terrible passer. He was absolutely the best player on the pitch in the reverse fixture at the Etihad. Glad he made such an impact at the weekend too. Ideally Sarr/Gray or Bergvall should be our midfield with Palhinha.
The club is obviously still in a dire point but I genuinely have some belief in Frank to turn it around somehow. I feel the games against Dortmund, Frankfurt and City have proven there is ability in this squad to do that, and I think he's finding what works and not giving up.
Few more tough fixtures but I can see us doing well against Newcastle who haven't been excellent recently.
Simons is rapidly proving to be a significant upgrade on either Gibbs-White or Eze.
This is a very good analysis. However, I would point out that both goals were conceded not because of excellent City play but because of two basic errors. Error 1 – Bissouma has the ball in midfield and tries to dribble pass players rather than passing before contact. He loses the ball, players are out of position under pressure so goal conceded. Error 2 – Dragusin has the ball in defence under relatively low pressure and passes the ball straight to an opponent so that the defence is out of shape, a couple of slick passes leading to a goal. It doesn't really matter what system you play if you give the ball away cheaply. Football is a game of moments and errors and in the key moments, Spurs make too many basic errors. In the second half the passing was definitely much better and I'm not sure if we pass the ball better when we are offensive rather than when we are defensive? Something to think about. It seems we play better when going behind which forces us to go on the attack and when we pass well chances are created. I hope Frank has learnt the lesson.
@Boweman, I must give you credit for talking football as we saw with our own eyes. This is where your talent actually shines. Just want to give you props since I spare no words in my critique towards you when I think it is warranted.
I’m ngl this may have been franks biggest result this season. I’m not excusing the way we came out in the first half but it’s new system and the team sheet has been poor. But being able to go to the locker room and understanding what needs to change and making it happen is what I was excited for when we got him. I think the subs he made were like you said proactive and not reactive and it’s obvious how much passion our players have. I think they genuinely want to win not for just themselves and us but also the manager too. Ik it’s a hard run coming up but I’m just begging that this is a step forward and not sideways
Think a patreon would be a good move for you. You’d be able use clips for your analysis instead of stills. Think it would be next level for your content.
Underrated performance from Gray. Specially on the second half, really bold from him to turn around his man and take his man.
